Thinking of switching to Mac, but want to try out Mac OS X on your WinXP PC?

Your PC centric company won't buy you a Mac to play with?

Read this article on how to run Mac OS X on a Windows XP PC.

WOW!!!, parang Virtual PC ng Mac. I am definitely going to try this, 'cause I'ved been wishing that my PC at home would turn into a Mac. And now here is the answer. pero mas gusto ko pa rin yung the real thing, kesa "virtual" lang. kaso can't afford ako.

    Just a reminder!!!

You are still required to buy a licensed copy of Mac OS X to run in the PC emulator. Please do not pirate Apple's products!

A Tip: you might be able to buy some one else's Mac OS X 10.2 cheap if he has already upgraded to 10.3.

I said, I was going to try. what if it didn't work?, I will be waisting my money on an OS that I won't be able to use. If it work, I will test and re-test it. If the performance is to my liking I'll buy the licensed copy without any second thoughts. I like the Mac specially the OS, it is a dream machine, but ordinary people like me won't be able to afford one.

If you do get it to work, take note that it is REALLY slow. Just opening a finder window takes like 10 seconds or so. And this is with an Athlon 64 3400+ with 1GB of RAM...

Looks interesting but 10 sec to open a window is just too slow.

If you really want the real thing, but you couldn't afford to buy it, you could always buy a 2nd hand/used Mac if you really want to (then sell your PC and buy yourself Virtual PC, if you still find the need for it)! :shy:

It's good to buy brand new (if you have the moolah?), but if buying/wanting what you can't afford (right now) is the only reason that's keeping you from using/trying out the Mac, you don't know what you're missing (ask everbody here as well, also!).

    I agree!

And on that note, is anybody here selling their old OS X v10.2 or maybe even v10.3 if you've just upgraded to Tiger recently?

I'm on a tight budget myself, but I'd rather have an OS X version that's a version or two behind, rather than be using the latest Windows version! :embarrased:

Just u2u me if your selling yours ok?

    Thanks.

    It's not worth it! :uh-oh:

And would you believe that a low-end Mac is still high-end compared to Windows, and would be worth much more than any PC hardware in the long run? :devious:

More often than not, it's true!
