    Default OSX Help Menu Error

I've been using my powerbook for almost a week now and I'm just beginning to be familiar with the OS. The Help Preview Application has been a great tool for newbies like me in that it gives me easy and immediate access for guidance and working with and around the system. However, just recently, the help application would not work properly anymore (the search bar does not work , and sometimes the help search would just "unexpectedly terminate&quot. I'm quite sure that I haven't messed around or deleted with any of the system files. I tried searching for similar topcis that may already have been discussed here but can't find one.

Need help please. Do I need to reinstall the whole OS? are there other alternatives? The help menu is really important to me.

Search for these files (com.apple.helpviewer.plist, com.apple.helpui.plist, com.apple.help.plist) and trash them. Then open Mac Help again.
