Need help in repartitioning externa hard drive
I split my 120gb USB hard drive into two, but did not name or format my second partition before quiting Disk Utility. Now, how do I get to use the other unallocated partition? Is there a way to grow my first partition to cover the whole 120gb drive? I was planning to use the other partition as my windows backup drive, but it seems that when I connect to Windows it sees the whole 120gb and not two 60gb drives.
Any help would be great!
Thanks

Hey Piedad,
I tried doing that with my iomega 120 external too. The thing is, HFS won't coexist with NTFS on the same disk on separate partitions (something to do with the 0 bit sector of the drive where the filetable is). What worked for me was partitioning it into 2 equal parts using FAT32. That'll work fine if:
1. You don't plan to use your external drive as a boot drive for another OSX installation
2. You don't plan to use NTFS' file security and compression
OSX has no problems reading and writing to FAT32 drives, it's just messy - because on my FAT32 partition, it leaves a lot of invisible .Trash files...
Check out www.macosxhints.com for related threads, if I find the link i'll post it here. Good luck!

I really like using SilverKeeper, a free disk backup utility from Lacie, and that one only works with HFS, so I think I would rather lose the ability to connect to windows.
Now the problem is how to "reclaim" that 60gb partition for OSX use....
