L1 or L2 cache enabler in OSX
Anyone here used CPU director before or any program that turns on L1 and L2 cache fro older processors in OSX?

yes... why? l2cacheconfig is better... although the one built into xpostfacto seems to be less problematic.

L2 cache activator
i tried running cache config but i cant run the config maker because i have OS 9.2. How do i manually create the L2cache configfile.

1. download g3/g4 cache profiler... it works only in os 9.x, install...
2. once youve installed it (its best if no other similar software is running), set your desired preferences for the backside cache speed, ratios, yadiyadiyada... reboot...
3. open cacheprofiler and click on the 'cache control' tab, take note of the series of numbers there, in hex, as L2CR... something like 0xA90000... write this down.
4. open simpletext and type in the code series (0xA900...)... save as "l2cache.config" on your os 9 desktop.
5. reboot to os x and open l2cacheconfig, authenticate, and the software should find the file automatically, if not, open the config file you just saved in the previous step from cacheconfig manually.

Nope i'm currently using CPU director but i'm trying to see if there's a better program to run the cache.
Thanks i'll try the cache profiler.
