Default HELP: WIFI poor signal after 10.3.5 update(i think)

I have a lyksys wifi-G installed 7 meters away from my room(desk). but there is a concrete wall blocking it so normally i get 1-2 bars of signal from my room. but early this morning i updated to 10.3.5 and after i restarted my comp i couldn't get any signal unless i stay right beside the lyksys ( i don't even get full bars even if i'm beside it). So i checked my dads tablet w bulit in B wifi card and was able to get 2 bars and more w my sisters G laptop in my desk. i'm not sure if it's because of the update or i have a hardware problem w my airport extreme. PLEASE help!! coz if no choice i have to place a long LAN cord all the way to my room.

Oh and i tested my broadband at www.2wires.com and only got 90kbps siting beside the lyksys while my dads tablet got 190-200kbps 5 meters away from the lyksys. Then when i used the lan cord i was able to get 150kbps. Is it the browser or there is something wrong w my computer?

thanks a lot for the help guys!

have you tried shutting down the Mac? Sometimes this works wonders. Also, try to check if your airport card is seated properly.
