Epson LX 300+ + mac os x

has anyone been successful trying to print with an epson lx 300+, using a usb to parallel cable, with gimp print, if so how were u able to do it? and where and what usb parallel cable did u use/buy?

advance answer to as to why would i want to use an lx 300+ printer, thats the printer available at the office, and its cheaper to print office documents with it especially spreadsheets.

have been trying to figure out this same problem for a long time but with the classic OS 9. Haven't had time to check it out with OS X yet as would have to install it on the office computers.

after spending most of the week looking for a way to print on an epson lx 300+, i was able to finally print to it, the solution was pretty simple, but not easily known, opd first you have to download gimp print 4.2.7, i think thats the latest version, then you have to search for the epson-9pin ppd, i found it on the net, on a site regarding linuxprinting on epson printers, gimp print gives you instructions on having the printer recognized by os x, but the trick is having the correct ppd.

if you need help just u2u me or post in this forum, btw im using os 10.3.6 already, and a Aten Usb-to-parallel printer cable, bought at the local villman store, for 900 pesos.
