    Default Edit-->Cut in Finder

    I've always wondered how to use the Edit-->Cut function in the Finder. I know how it works on Windows, but it seems to be always grayed out on the Finder. I know dragging and dropping can do the same thing, but I'm just curious.

    What does it do?

    Actually, I've wondered about that for a long time. Isn't there a more efficient way of moving files around other than drag and drop? I actually prefer the windows way of moving files/folders via the cut command in windows explorer.

    I find its takes more work to move files around since you have to have another window open.

    Yes I know about spring loaded folders, but its just not that easy to use. You have to hold on the mouse a long time while navigating, difficult especially if you're searching deep into several folders.

    OS X already had "copy" command which works, I don't see why they couldn't implement the "cut" or a "move" feature.

    Anybody know a third part app that does this perhaps?

    For those that have the beta of Tiger, did they add this?
