CDRW Doesnt Seem to Work
I was planning to write some songs (in Audio CD format) on CD for an event. However, the songs were so baduy that I decided to use CD-RW so I could easily erase the contents before I accidentally play it somewhere less appropriate, ie, anywhere else!!
In any case, I inserted the CD-RW (its a Memorex 16X to 24X Ultra Speed CD-RW) into the drive of my Powerbook G4 with SuperDrive and prepared the music for burning using iTunes. However, a few seconds after inserting the disk, just when the disk would normally be recognized and mounted into the Finder, the disk simply ejected.
I tried it again today with Toast open and it did the same thing. The drive definitely works as I just burned 7 CDRs.
Any ideas what happened and how to fix it?
Thanks.

hi zChris! i'd assume the drive does not recognize the disk. that also happens to some of my CD-RW's. why not get a different RW to check it out?

Maybe its because its a high-speed cdrw disk 16x to 24x and the powerbooks drive can only recognize a 4x (max) cdrw disk?

I dont think so. I just checked the apple website and its 4X DVD-R, but 16X CD-RW.
I also tried out more three of the four disks I bought and none of them worked.

I am of the understanding that some burners or cd-burning software won't burn audio cds on a CD-RW because this type of media it is not recommended for audio discs. Let me look up the article.
