Never used one since I converted to a mac in 1998. Never had a virus problem since.

I use Norton's 9.0 and it continually (daily) finds and quarantines windows viruses (virii).
Could these be sent unawares to windows friends?

When I first switched to the Mac, I never used an antivirus software... especially when I started to use Mac OS X. However, since I regularly exchange e-mails (with attachments) with my clients, I have to run an antivirus software so that I do not forward any possible viruses to them.

There were a handful of indicents when I received e-mail attachments which contained viruses. If I didn't have NAV installed, I would have forwarded a virus-infected file to a client. That is a strict NO-NO.

there was one virus that came out (1998 or 1999)
that actually erases files on your disc / removable disc.

    Virex came to the rescue.
I dont know if anyone can remember this.
    But now with MacOS X....
hmmmmm, what virus? application ba yun sa Windows?

    I use VIREX.

It came free with .mac. I have it set up to run everytime I restart my computer. I think it gets the job done.

    Don't know what's the best.

I use Virex from .mac seems to be ok
then again not too many viruses for mac but
you can never be too careful these days, some nut may make a virus for UNIX based systems.

    Ahhhm, whats a "virus"?

Hehehe. Never saw the need for an anti-virus program yet, ever since I've switched (about 4 years ago)... I sure hope I don't ever need to.
