Yahoo! Messaging for Mobile Phones
Has anyone tried Yahoo! Messenger for mobile phones? Retrieving Yahoo mail via GPRS has no problem but I could never seem to connect to the messaging services. :?:

After a week it started to work with me. Blame it on the Lag King. What I do is log onto Yahoo! Messenger SMS by way of Mac Y! Messenger. After a few seconds I receive an activation msg.

used to work for me when I was still in Manila.
Cell Providers here in the states are soooooo way behind the times... even the units that they sell more often than not are the old stuff that have been out in Asia for quite a bit already.
:gun: US Cell Providers !!!

For you people with Symbian Phones such as the Nokia 3650 or 6600 you can also download Agile messenger which allows you to connect via GPRS to a variety of IM clients such as MSN, Yahoo, ICQ etc. I haven't tried it though. Anyone has some experience trying this service?

As long as our great GPRS providers don't improve their systems then you really can't depend on these auxiliary services. I recently tried out this cool new portal mobile.hsbc powered by yahoo. Sayang ganda sana pero laging laos yung GPRS connection  Oh and sorry for venting :60s:

Try the Java-based midlets, some work.
I just find it a bit weird that IM does not work properly on GPRS considering that it just require very little bandwidth. Heck, it can even work on 2400bps modem connections.

Agile Messenger works, if you're using Globe that is. Smart Telecom is actually dumb enough to block the port that Agile Messenger and Verichat uses, hence, no IM thru GPRS for me on my Treo 600. :brick:
I emailed Smart about this and they said that they were "working" on it, well it's been 3 weeks and they haven't fixed the damn thing! %#&@)!@* morons!!!!
