I know there are a number of (rabid) SE fans here, so I'd like to tap them for some questions.
I recently got the SE T610, giving up my trusty and very reliable Nokia 6310i. I've been playing with it for quite a while and have gotten the hang of it (mostly). Only reason I jumped ship was for Mac compatibility. I've not regretted my decision thus far.
I've some "issues" though, but I just hope its something I've overlooked, and maybe the SE experts can help me:
- Is there a way to know the SMS sender's number used? For example, one contact I have has 3 different numbers (2 of which are "mobile"
. When I receive a message, I only see the name. With Nokias, I can view the contact's details (in particular the number used). This is particularly important for me since I detest having to reply to Chikka numbers when I can use their regular mobile numbers.
- When composing SMS, I noticed we can insert symbols and multimedia, but I can't find the facility to insert a contact's number. Again, a very common feature in most Nokias, and something I've grown quite fond of.
- Sometimes the phone seems to "forget" my contact's numbers. When receiving messages, the contact's number is displayed instead of the name. I've verified that the name is indeed in the contact's info (when saving it, I'm asked if I want to replace the same existing number). Nothing is on my SIM (With Nokias, I know that the same number in different contacts will result in showing the number instead).
Overall, I'm happy with my phone (especially now that I have proper Bluetooth support, I can start programming with it), just a few rough edges (e.g. slow UI -- in general TRUE for all newer phones).

Gino, would that mean you're gonna write software for it like Jonas Salling did? Or maybe some useful Java applications too? That would be great!

Both.
Bluetooth programming has been an itch for me, but it was a nightmare getting to talk with Nokia's 6310i just because there was no documentation available AND the phone wasn't really easy to program with in the first place (except for the latter 5.x firmware, I'm told).
