Default Sending SMS from the web - - - HELP!

Does anyone know what website I can use to send text messages over the internet? I'd like to be able to text Globe, Smart, etc phones. I'm in a building that doesn't have cell signal, so I'd like to text people from a website, which is sure to get out.

    Thanks!

You can try using www.smart.com.ph, they have online texting feature (but you have to be a SMART Subscriber).. P5 per txt message sent.

If you're a PLDT DSL subscriber, you can also use their services to text at P1 per text.

Don't think chikka offers downloads for mac users... checking their website out... still only for pc.... gosh darn it! i use to enjoy chikka before icq works "daw" even when texting globe cel numbers but some might not get through like the new ones that starts with 0912 or 0927 ones....

Used ICQ for a "917" number and it didn't work.

Does anyone out there have any other suggestions on sites to visit that will allow me to send SMS online for FREE?

    Thanks!

@ cr8zy: sorry, last time i used it kasi was really looooonng time ago, as in years ago pa. i assumed they might have developed the site for the benefit of us--Mac users... so i guess not. sayang kasi i really loved using that kasi nga free rin. uhmm, if i come across a website for free sms, i'll let u know.

Re: Sony dsc T11---(again sorry for the delay of my response ngayon ko lang kasi nakita)
    i really love the camera!
    - it's point and shoot (w/c is what i really need)
    - the design is very sleek (fits the pockets of my jeans. size means a lot to me, esp if i take it to trips that involves activities-- snowboarding, etc...)
    - it doesnt have that thing that covers the lense (i heard it's one of the major turn offs of the t1 since it gets loose easily.)
    - it gives me good nigt shots (fireworks and such). all pix are certifiably good quality.
    - i was amazed with the zoom, i never expected it from such a thin cam.
    - and the 2.5 wide screen... i just gotta love the size of it.

    my turn offs are:
    - it has no slot for a camera stand, unlike the other sony cybershots.
    - the only way to dl the pix is by using the dock (i'm not aware if there's a cable sold seperately, which would be much better than taking the dock all the time.)
    - the standard batt that came with it only lasts me a good hour... have to buy pa the 4hr batt w/c costs like $80.

so far yan pa lang... have yet to learn more about this gadget. i'm no techie at all, i just go by what i learn and what i discover. hope these helps

    apol kopol:

hey thanks a lot for the input.

as far as the Sony DSC-T11, i was eyeing that myself while researching digital cameras. i think your CONs are enough to turn me off on it. i know what you mean about the portability of it....it sounds great. seems like i usually go for that too, but in this case i think i might go for functionality and quality of photos, therefore i am swaying strongly on the side of purchasing the Canon Powershot A95. it's almost a full-size camera, but the quality and functions are enough for me. i'm not in a rush to purchase it, so maybe the price will go down even further in a month's time. knowing the pricing of technology, as soon as you buy something new, something comes out. i'll wait a little bit. i just want to do a thorough research first.

yeah, it's too bad there aren't any companies that caters to the MAC as far as free SMS is concerned. well, i hope something comes out soon. it's just convenient for me to text via internet, since i lack a signal on my cell.

    thanks again!
