re: apple 23" lcd display

Hi Guys,

A friend is selling me his old 23" inch lcd display. I was wondering, would anyone know what's the fair market value or going rate for this monitor? Also, since this is a second hand unit, and already out of warranty, what are the necessary checkpoints to look at to insure its in good working condition? any software to check for discoloration like pixel check would do for bad pixels?

@Boomer: Was looking to purchase a used 23' in Apple Cinema Display myself a few months ago, but the thing is, apparently the prices for these items fluctuate quite often.

The best (and probably most accurate way) to find the prices is to go to http://www.dealmac.com or http://www.ebay.com, look for the average, then add 5-10 thousand pesos due to the scarcity of these items in the Philippines.

Last time I looked, (about 2-3 months ago) going price for a used one was about $1799-$1999.
