Pls recommend a good PDA
I am looking for a PDA that is fully compatible with Macs and SE phones. Aside from that, I just need the basic core functions like the notepad, to do list, calendar etc.. Colored screen is not a necessity.
I am seriously considering a Sony Clie. Which model would you recommend? Any other brands/models/OS that are worth considering? Preferably I want something small and easy to carry.

I use a Palm T2 and it has worked pretty well for me. It syncs very well with ical and address book on the mac. I am also able to text via bluetooth using it through my T610.
I think this is true for most of the palm tungsten line.

@DRU777: I suggest that you hold on to your wallet for a couple of weeks... PalmOne should be releasing new models by October/November. and if you buy now, you might regret it in a few weeks time.

Nothing against Clie and Sony, but if you are thinking of after sales support, go with a PalmOne unit.
As tantin and bernie noted, the newer units MIGHT come out before the year ends and you will regret the peso you spent for the would be older machine.
BUT if you like to check out Villman's 0%promo. you might get a good bargain too.
The final decision is of course... yours.
cheers

Hi DRU777,
If you're looking for a PDA in general and not necessarily a Palm-based handheld in particular, then you might want to check out the Compaq and HP sale this weekend at the SM Megamall Megatrade 2. I heard some iPaq Pocket PC's are on sale at real bargain prices. PocketPC's are now compatible with Macs thanks to the third-party solutions such as PocketMac Pro 3.3.5 and Missing Sync for PocketPC, both downloadable at VersionTracker.com.
I'm a Sony Clie owner myself but I'm afraid Macmon is correct about its lack of after sales support here. If you prefer a PalmOne unit then you should consider what the others have already suggested.

For compatibility, nothing beats a Palm unit. Sony Clies will need 3rd-party software to synch properly with your Mac. My advise: wait for the new PalmOne releases. Either choose from the new models or get one of the old models at bargain prices. From your post it seems you really don't need the latest model anyway.
