My NEW Ipod hungs

Hi, I just bought a new 4thGen Ipod today and when the ipod is initializing.... it hungs. What will i do? I tried to rest it, but no avail.
How can i format it? Thanks.

it hangs huh... what did you do prior to it crashing? did you do an update or something?

if you botched an update or something weird happened... the best thing to do is do a restore on the iPod with the update utility instead of update. You'd lose your data though. Just do this as a last resort. I hope you backed up your stuff.

yep... i botched an update a while back on my old 3G. Just do a Restore and you should be up and running again.

When i do a restore...it always says "disk write failure" and how can i see my ipod on my itunes? thanks.
