Help on choosing a mobile phone
Hello PhilMUGers.... need help to choose a new mobile phone to use with my Tungsten T3 and 12" PowerBook G4....
I want one with a decent camera, and bluetooth so I can surf wirelessly using my T3 or AlBook...
Am considering the ff:
- Nokia 6600
- Nokia 6230
- Sony Ericsson P900
- Sony Ericsson T630
which one would you recommend from the above? Any other recommendations? or should I wait til the N7610/SE K700 comes out?

T630. Hands down. You don't need the camera. You have an ixus ii already.

The t630's cam is not as good as that of any Nokia camera phones. I came from 7650 and moved on to t630. But if you want maximum compatibility with your powerbook, t630 (or even a t610) would be the best.
If you're not in a hurry though, you could wait for the se k700. It's coming out in a month's time.
My :2cents:
Good luck.

Seems like T630 is popular here ah.. I'm tempted to get the black T630 but am always swayed to make a final decision whenever I see the cool apps available for N6600/P900 and the VGA cam resolution of N6230.
I read from various sites that N6230 has one of the worst bluetooth implementations ever, and I wouldn't want to have a device like that. N6600 naman is too ubiquitous for me.. you see it everywhere! P900 is a bit pricey for the feature set, and I don't need another PDA as my T3 works perfectly fine.
So, mukhang T630 na lang or wait til K700? Hmmm...
Sabi nila T630 is soooo slowww daw, any truth?

haven't used any from your options but SE T630 is my choice...correct me if im wrong, as what i have experienced, symbian-powered phones are "not so" compatible with the mac (like sending sms) due to the fact that they have their own OS'

I have one and I don't find it slow. There is a learning curve if you're coming from a nokia. But once you get it, it feels perfect. And aside from being fully compatible with the addressbook, you could also download PhoneAgent and Salling Clicker to further enhance the partnership between your phone (T630) and your PowerBook.
Good luck!

sony ericsson phones have always been mac loving. except for a few of course. nokia, in my experience, is not so mac friendly like the SE phones are. one thing, don't get swayed because nokia phones have cool apps on them. however, be swayed by the software that you can install in your powerbook that can be controlled using a SE phone. bagwis already mentioned phoneagent and salling clicker. i've used salling clicker.. many many times for my keynote presentations. and my boss was more impressed with my t610 controlling my powerbook than the presentations i made. hope this helps your decision. :2cents:

Wow.. sounds really great! You guys have boosted up T630's chances to be my choice... :P
It's been tough weeks already for me, flip-flopping from one choice to another and back. I even made an Excel spreadsheet and graded each candidate phone on features/aspects that I care about!
As it turned out, the phones have really close scores... So I "weighted" the scores depending on how much I value or need that feature/aspect.
T630 always come out as a strong contender... yun nga lang I've been a Nokia user since my first cellphone so the Finnish handsets tend to appeal to me as well...
Any of you guys used the T630 to sync with or surf the net thru a Palm device? There are no drivers for T630 on Palm's site.. only for T610....

If you prefer the Nokia choices, I'd go with the 6230. Is it available already? I'd imagine it would be expensive. I'm biased on the Nokia user interface
