    Default Coolpad

    Hi
Is the coolpad important for your laptops? is there an alternative accessory which is cheaper? Thanks!

there's the speedball if you want a cheaper alternative but nothing beats the coolpad's swivel feature.

It's not really a factor if have a coolpad or not. It's more of a personal preference.

It ain't summer anymore so you might have a bit of time to think about it !

If you use it in an aircon room all the time well maybe not, but for me I got one right away, the traveller for my 667 TiBook.

Actually, my first cool pad was an aluminium 'frozen meat thawing plate!' The type you get from SellaVision on TV. Not available anymore though! That was about 300 bucks only ! I put larger rubber feet at the back end to make it tilt. Worked great with a cooling gel pad ! Too bad no pictures, Dunno how to do it !

a cheaper alternative? four 3M bump-on rubber pads. some of us swear by these (P75 a packet of 12 at SM hardware), esp. to replace the rubber feet on our 'books, which tend to get lost over time. they won't swivel, but they'll give your laptop some lift and airflow underneath.

Howzabout using a book to prop up the laptop at an angle? That's what I do (barat 'no?), and I don't think it can get any cheaper than this.

depends on your usage. i bring my 'book often to cafe and restaurants. so the added elevation protects it from getting wet and stains. plus the swivel plate allows me to show my screen to clients with ease.

plus most of my clients (pc-based) are aliw with my coolpad (not to mention my powerbook)

That's true, KAI! Many PowerBooks/iBooks of MUGgers have been spared getting short-circuited or worse by the Cool Pad when a glass or mug had accidentally been knocked over on the dining table!

my coolpad saved my powerbook a lot of times already. you can live without it. but if you work with a lot of people around you drinking coffee, soda or water, it is a necessity.

    Hi ELBERT!

Are all the CoolPads there being used? If there happens to be a black one that's not being used & is up for grabs, kindly holler. Thank you!
