    Default \"Chiclet\" Apple Cinema Display

    Hi guys,

Am seriously considering purchasing a previous generation Apple Cinema Display (see pic.) this will be used to connect to my iBook as primary monitor. (and I love the design... )

However, despite the introduction of the new aluminum finish displays, the cost to obtain one is still pretty high, that's why I'm having some second thoughts.

Any feedback / suggestions / experiences (be it good or bad) regarding this piece of hardware? I'd be grateful for any help, since this is the last monitor I'll be purchasing for the foreseeable future.

While it's not exactly a 'Cinema' display, I own a smaller 17" Apple Studio display, which is the same thing as the cinema series, only slightly smaller (there's even a 15" unit, but both have recently been discontinued).

I love it, and the only thing that could get me to part with it is a bigger model. Cost me over sixty grand when it first came out, but now you can buy them at a little over half the cost (or even less).

I only have three quibbles with the Studio and Cinema series: I wish they swivelled from side to side; I wish they'd made it easier to clean internally - dust collects on the inside of the clear plastic parts because of static electricity; and I (along with everyone else) wish they were cheaper.

Otherwise, they are close to perfect.
