About LinkBacksYeah, pretty much AT&T and Apple will offer iPhone contract less for $599 and $699 respectively for 8GB and 16GB**. The question is, is your hand itching enough to get it from the US? or will you wait for Globe?

For me, I won't (I have the 1st gen)
ATT and Apple will release the iPhone with contract at launch but will later allow contract less transaction when the demand wears off. Maybe August? it beats September ayt?

Re: Will you get the iPhone 3G in the States? i might end up getting the 1st gen iPhone instead although i've been itching to have the 3g for months now.
i really need a new phone cos my good old n70 gave up on me already. i take it as a sign for me to get a new phone.
all these 3g prices talk are making me confused so i'll settle for the 1st gen

Re: Will you get the iPhone 3G in the States? parang I read somewhere that simply unlocking the iPhone 3G and bringing it to Asia wont work just like that. Parang something to do with different 3G settings there and in Asia. Parang sa Japan iba din yung 3G set up nila.
And take note, those "contract-less" iphones to be sold by AT&T will be in "the future". So definitely not together with the big launch next week. Re: Will you get the iPhone 3G in the States? iPhone Has Tri-Band 3G chip, a first in a mobile phone. so kahit saan mo dalhin, maging 2100 UMTS man yan or 3G ng US, or Japan, surely, it will work (hardware wise) it depends on the software if it will let you use your sim.
UMTS 2100 = Europe and Asia (phil and HK)
US 3G

Re: Will you get the iPhone 3G in the States? i'll just wait for the official release of Globe here in the phils. i wouldnt die if i wont get one in the next few weeks or in a couple of months, i'd like to get the services that comes along with the phone(e.g. warranty,technical support,repair etc.)
