why get excited about the iphone's asian release?
A lot of my friends has been holding out for iphones asian big launch, but am i wrong in saying that:
1) the us iphone is subsidized so it will probably the cheapest.
2) asian release is not philippine release. a singapore or malaysian iphone(out of the box) will not work with our carriers.
3) apple gets more income from its phone related services than from selling the hardware (phone) itself. So there's a big chance that apple will totally ignore the philippine market, since most pinoys are just into texting and seldom uses other services.

yeah, its funny how people are "waiting for the asian release" i don't know how more advantageous or different it will be. unless the iphone is changed significantly (3g or text friendly features).
the way i see it, they will charge an arm and a leg for edge and voice mail too. a bleak picture indeed. i can't wait to see the prices.
the local warranty will be the best part of the iphone. but that will probably only hold true for the Philippine release.

On another forum, a user who would probably wait for an "asian release" wanted to do so because the current iPhones in his view are "illegal".
Anyway, I think when people say asian release, they really meant Philippine release.

i think asian release will be the same as the one we have right now. 3G will be released first to the US customers... apple don't want to be sued by their home country right. realising a much better version outside its origin will not be good to their sales...

Apple will not officially release iPhone in the Philippines. Not in the near future. This is enough reason not to get excited. Anyways, goodluck for those who are still hoping.

one more thing, how would they release it here if they don't have an official apple store here.

Oh man, I wish they do open an apple store here, but i have to give credit to the local resellers. They at least give us access to apple products and services.
