What about adding VoIP capabilities to the iPod touch? Figure out a way for it to accept audio input.
I don't watch any local TV so I can't say the iPhone TV tuner appeals to me.

Patrick's suggestion is way better IMO. Mobile TV per se doesn't really click if you can only have free TV stations on it and have to pay a fortune for a micro-TV tuner adapter.

its a great idea. seriously if you do make it then the market will come in. it may not be useful enough for the local setting, but in markets like the US and Europe you're sitting on a million dollar/euro idea.

switch it to a digital tuner, then I agree with you.

I think its a good idea. But better if you can have it streamed via the web somehow. But I believe that starting out with the tuning idea will open a lot of doors.
Just dont forget us when you get hired by Steve!

how about an FM/AM receiver? For when those times that you really need to listen to the radio and you happen to be mobile. (e.g. during calamities, coup de etats, national emergencies)

Re: what do you think about iphone TV tuner?
I'm assuming this project is hardware based. Are you going to hack the hardware inside the iPhone and place the tuner inside or produce the tuner and connect it externally thru the iPhone's dock? I know Jobs doesn't approve tinkering the dock.
