A warning to all ***SIM users
I have with me an iPhone which will have to be opened up physically to get the SIM tray out. This is an iPhone in which I installed a StealthSIM a few weeks ago. The owner was experiencing some problems with the SIM solution and decided to eject the SIM tray and return it himself. In the process, he got the SIM tray stuck. I've tried everything, but it really won't come out. I don't want to risk destroying the entire unit, so I'll pass this on to someone I know who knows how to 'operate' on iPhones. Right now, the iPhone is now unusable as a mobile phone.
Be forewarned, All you have to do is Google to words "stuck iPhone SIM tray" to realize that there is a real risk involved when using Stealth, Turbo, X and other SIM sleds out there.

Re: A warning to all ***SIM users
would just like to ask why is the turbosim also a risk? I was thinking that stealthsims & x-sims have greater risk since they involve combining 2 cut sims in the iPhone simtray. Isn't turbosim simply a clone of the original local sim and will fit the iPhone simtray nicely just like the AT&T sim? =)

Re: A warning to all ***SIM users
all of them are sleds so they are all prone to getting stuck in the SIM tray especially when you try to force it out. good thing, there's already the 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 jailbreak and unlock. no real need for **SIMs for now.

Re: A warning to all ***SIM users
Actually, TurboSIM is one of the original SIM sleds, which I suspect was the model for all SIM sleds in the market today.

Does that mean that Turbo Sim is not at much risk compared to Stealth & the others?

It does not mean that at all. All SIM sled solutions are risky. By using a sled, you are inserting a foreign object in the SIM tray. It's not meant to be there in the first place. The only thing that holds the sled in place is the bulk of the solder point/chip against the cuut-out portion of the user's SIM.

Re: A warning to all ***SIM users
I have a friend who has a busted sim tray (his phone is 3.9BL 111), paper clip wont work even if you press it hard it'll just bend. His solution is he got a much thicker wire (alambre or a precision screw driver) and just force the thing out.. his sim tray pin hole is much bigger now hehe.
Maybe you could try it out instead of opening it up.. Just a suggestion.

i was hoping to use turbosim coz i already have a jailbroken ipodtouch and i would want the iphone to still retain its warranty. plus 3rd party applications SDK will hopefully fill the apps usually available in a jailbroken iPhone...
