Hello my fellow iPhone users. I noticed that a lot of local iPhone users don't have the Usage meter (Settings > Usage) working at all. A friend of mine, whose iPhone I unlocked can't get his phone to log the usage time, as in the indicator during shows nothing under "time since last full charge". Even under Settings, there is no summary showing beside the Usage icon.
**Don't mind the No Service and 0 minutes in the Current Period and Lifetime, these screencaps were taken from a newly unlocked iPhone.
Call Time and EDGE Network Data are working properly though.
I'm trying to see if there is a correlation with this and the unlocking method deployed.
Please share with us if your phone is subject to this issue. State the kind of unlocking method as well.
Mine is working fine, but my iPhone isn't unlocked (am using a SIM method).
mine works fine,i noticed that the usage will start working once the battery is fully charged. Im using anysim btw
Interesting. My friend (an unlocking client), fully charged his phone twice, and I saw it myself that the indicators were empty. I called babynino and he too had an empty Usage meter. Both of them were unlocked with iUnlocker.
I find that if you charge it all the way, and then, through the course of the day, plug it into a set of speakers that charge it, the usage meter goes blank. I'm not sure if that is the same problem you're seeing, but now that you ask, I'll try to be more vigilant in checking..
My friend just sent me a text. He's suspecting that the fault is in his iPhone's inability to charge to full. He's been charging for almost 5 hours and still it doesn't top off. So it may be a battery issue, but I'm still curious to find out if unlocking has any bearing on the Usage meter.
Mine resets the usage info whenever I connect it to my Mac to sync (or for whatever reasons). The USB connection causes the iPhone to recharge its battery thus the usage info resets.
Is there any way of temporarily disabling USB charging to prevent this from happening and probably to help prolong the iPhones battery life? Thanks.

My family is under a family plan with AT&T with a total of 5 iPhones all of which are locked and the usage meter on theirs are flaky. Somedays the usage meter works, somedays it doesn't. The charging meter likewise. I've got 2 unlocked iPhones, one on 1.1.1 and one on 1.02 and the same issues are present but I get the estimated battery life, which happens to be excellent, by the way, so it's a non issue for me.
when everybody calls nokia... i answered iPhone; when people peek at windows... i stared at MAC; when humans aim w/ canon... i shoot with £eica; when they swim with padi... i dive with Naui; when all men wear Hanes... i wear none
