turntable needle
Can anyone refer me to a shop that sells turntable needles? Have an old Dual turntable with a busted Shure needle; just for listening purposes, no DJing.
Tried the thread on turntables but could not find anything. Also, i saw a shop in Virra Mall before it was closed for renovation. Dunno if they relocated/

Try Audiophile. They have a shop at Cinema Square ( tel. 811 1908) and in a whole bunch of other places.

Audiophile also has a shop in EDSA and Pioneer Sts. They sell Shure, both for DJ and regular listening.
You can also go to Audio by Design in Park Square 1. They sell Numark cartridges. However, the Numark ones are for DJ use and are quite expensive. They look cool though, one piece types like Ortofons.

What kid of turntable do you have? What about your tone arm, what kind?

The duals have a proprietary cartridge carrier, it's a pretty good turntable with clear sound.

thanks for the help, will check out audiophile next week. My Dual unit is a cs 630Q model with an m-447 head. Not quite sure if thats correct, just dug up this turntable from my brother-in-laws place.

The 447 is Shure's standard for scratch cartridges. They seem to have a lot of DJ's endorsing the 447, mostly hiphop DJs.
I tried the 447 once and the sound was pretty bassy. Apparently, they designed the 447 to play with very distinct bass response. It did sound pretty good and had lots of presence.
I use the 44G, which is a more general club and scratch DJ cartridge. Good, clear, balanced sound, with very low tracking force needed. Cheaper than the 447 too.
