I need to transfer the contents of my Mac formatted iPod into my Windows PC. What program can I use?

Not at all possible. Windows won't recognize the hard drive.

yes it is, did this before with my mini using XPlay, and there's a free trial version that should allow you copy some songs from any mac-formatted ipod.

Correction, it IS possible. Aside from what Gomi stated, you can also do it with MacDrive installed.

However you'll be accessing your Music (/iPod Control/Music, which are ALL hidden folders by the way) via Apple's storage method - meaning ALL your songs will have strange, unintelligible filenames, and are stored into folders in a way you can't possibly predict the logic behind

But if you have iTunes installed, then just drag all folders/files into it and it should be able to take the metadata of the files and sort them on your hard drive with proper names/folders (assuming you set iTunes to sort your music folder automatically)

incidentally, macdrive and xplay are made by the same company.

oh, I stand corrected then. Thanks for clarifying. I based my reply on previous experience, I've researched before but never found the answer. I'll try that solution.

even with xplay, however, you will still need a third party utility like PodUtil (which also has a naggin free version) to copy over the songs, so you dont have to go through the tedious task of opening invisible folders and such
