Default Touchpad Elite - THE BEST iPhone/iPod Touch App I've come across so far

I'm subscribed to the twitter feed of 148apps, both their newapps & pricedrops feeds. So when a free or on sale app comes along that captures my interest, I get it.

Touchpad Elite I downloaded when it was newly released in late October. I never really set it up until last night. And all I can say is WOW.

More or less, I now have a remote touchpad, keyboard, direction pad all on my iPod Touch. I can move the mouse pointer on my screen by moving my finger on the Touch's screen, ditto for the remote keyboard.

WOW. (They have a $24.99 version that includes a remote view of your desktop).

I let a friend know about this and he's made his touch into a entertainment center remote. He has his MacBook hooked up to an LCD projector and can now watch movies, among other stuff, without bending over to move the pointer on his MacBook, which is set on a low shelf.

This is even better than having a wireless mouse since you don't need a flat surface.

Honestly, this is the best app I've come across. Even better than my GTD App Things, or my accounting App SplashMoney.

I feel really fortunate to have gotten it for free since it's $4.99 now. But even if I didn't get it for free, I'd still pay for it now. It's worth it.

I've now scrapped my plans to buy a Wireless Mighty Mouse.

Interesting Find Sir raf. I was looking through similar apps before and came across this article. http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/art...-app-reviewed/

I'm still "on the fence" on getting one though.

Got this app a month or so ago and it really is quite impressive.

I am actually using it right now to type this message lol Its keyboard includes all the necessary letters, numbers, and commands. My friends saw me typing on MS Word via touchpad, my mac was on the other side of the room, needless to say they were all impressed and a couple even bought the app.

do you need a wifi in order for the iPod Touch and Macbook to talk?

how would you know the current dollar to peso rate conversion when purchasing in iTunes?

    Thanks

@macboy: Yes you need WiFi in order for it to work. But if you don't have a WiFi router handy, just use the MacBook's built-in Airport Express Router to create an Adhoc Network. (On the Menubar, turn Airport on, Create Network - Follow the instructions at the developer's website from there). I don't have a WiFi router at home, but am able to use the App in this manner.

My credit card is a US based account, so I'm paying in USD, so I don't need to do any conversion. Anyone who uses an RP credit card can answer macboy's question? If my local purchases using this card are any indicator, your bank will use the prevailing bank exchange rate on the day you made your purchase. But I'm not sure the exact manner this is done with iTunes.

As an option I'm using a FREE iPhone app called SnatchTest, also available at the iTunes store.

It's not as fully powered but works as a separate trackpad. Try it out and see if you like it. if you want more features then TouchPad Elite is a great option.

For the credit card options, you can use your US Credit Card in the iTunes US store and your Philippine Credit Card in the iTunes Philippine Store. Just switch Country at the bottom of the iTunes Store home screen.

I like Snatch better, though having to toggle between modes is a bit frustrating. At least it works as a good media center remote complete with volume and pause play buttons.
