Default Touch: How to temporarily disable Mobileme?

A friend borrowed my Touch over the weekend. Since its setup on my mobileme account, is there a way to stop mobileme to sync my Touch temporarily?

I am just worried since he might accidentally delete something and when it goes to the "cloud' both my iPhone and mbp info will be altered. Although I told him not to touch my info (contact, calendar, email).

In any case, I already changed my mobileme password and I am not sure if this will prevent my Touch from synchronizing.

antz, the only way I know to uncheck syncing with mobileme thru iTunes and just sync it with your Mac's iCal and AddressBook. This way it will have a frozen snapshot of the contacts and your calendar.

The other settings in Settings > Fetch New Data for example only toggles between Push and Manual (this one still syncs every time you open Contacts and Calendar in iPod Touch).

If you can still contact your friend, just ask him/her to go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Ask him to select your account name, then to switch off Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks.

This should work, right? Unless I'm missing something here.

And then, once you get it back, and you think your friend messed with your info, overwrite your iPod's Contacts and Calendars during the sync with iTunes (Advanced section under the Info tab).

Thanks guys, sent him SMS already reminding him not to mess with the settings, just listen and watch using my Touch.

Changing my mobileme password will also stop him from downloading my email if he's online, which I know he will. I got worried a bit since I totally forgotten my Touch ever since I got my iPhone 3G .

So what if it got stolen, how can we disable mobileme? That's another story, i guess.

johannes, it will wipe out all mail, contacts and calendar not just disable it. If you turn it off, a prompt will tell you that it will delete the current entries in the calendar, contacts, and mail.

antz, I missed to consider what you pointed out pala of changing the password. It should work. Too bad mobileme doesn't offer a remote wipe option just like exchange does...but I think for Exchange it is only applicable to the iPhone right?

Oh right... You're right, bacchus_3. It will wipe out the contacts and calendar entries. Forgot about that. Sorry.

Unless that's acceptable to antz88c. He can restore everything once he gets his iPod Touch back anyway, right?

Well, I guess the best option now is what antz88c just did: change his password and remind his friend to not mess with his data.

@ bacchus_3: Yeah, it would be cool if mobileme offers remote wipe, too!
