I recently loaded Paul Simon, The Beatles, and a little Steely Dan onto my iPod. Not sure if they fit your 60s/70s/80s craving though.
How about "First Picture Of You" and "German Girl" by The Lotus Eaters? And "William It Was Really Nothing," "Late Night, Maudlin Street," "November Spawned A Monster," "Golden Lights" and other timeless Morrissey/Smiths songs.
