I have my iPod earphone replaced 2 times. Just present ur case nicely, and if the 'Pod is still under warranty, no problemo!

I got that problem just this week too. Replaced my earphones with in-ear philips earphones even just temporarily. I'm still looking for other options. You see, just 3 days ago, all of a sudden, my left earphone was buzzing and it wouldn't go away. The switch to the new earphones isn't that bad. I can bring the volume up to 100% without the bass bursting. I couldn't do that with the ipod earphones.

Um, are the apple in-ear earphones better?

Isolate the problem first: is it a problem with the buds or the iPod itself? Many have complained about a 4G ipod defect, read about it here.

Change the buds first, see if the problem disappears. If that doesn't work, then bring your iPod in for replacement or repair.

If it's the iPod mini, I remember the aluminum exterior caused a ground on the headphones sometimes.

If your headphones still buzz on a different audio appliance (a CD player, a boombox , or and old Walkman), then it's probably the headphones.

If not, then the iPod may need looking at closer.

Try a different working pair of headphones and see if you still get a buzzing sound. If yes, then get the iPod serviced if you're still in warranty right away.
