As of the moment, there's no stock in the US... been bugging my dad to get me one, he called several Alpine dealers in Miami and they don't have stock yet. Most likely by October might have these baby... Even Crutchfield.com says it's around Oct. 10.
Only problem is I think I have to get a new 2004 Alpine Headunit.

Still no stock all over the U.S. I called at least a dozen Alpine-listed places. I got mine (and Vic's) luckily form a specialist who ordered early.

also, saw the demo, and i couldn't help but notice the iPod being 4th gen. would there be any problem with 3G or even earlier iPods?

We're working on it. I'm using a 3rd gen, so is Vic, no problem.

hehehe personally, i would stick with the P350 carkit accessory with headphone jack
connect to your iPod and bada-bing-bada-boom, your sounds play! (i also don't get that FM transmitter thing... eh? 
)
