    Default SNG Player for Mac

    Hey guys,
I'm writing a musical for our Singles Retreat and i recorded the music on a Korg organ... however, it saved it as SNG files... would any of you mac music afficionados know any program that i can use to convert these SNG files into WAV or MIDI files? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a million dudes and dudettes!

Wouldn't you have access to your Korg? The easiest way is for you to play the file on your Korg connected via a MIDI interface to your Mac. You can record/import this as a MIDI file using Logic Pro 7 (maybe Garageband, but I'm not sure).

Also SNG files are simply MIDI files with Korg extensions... so if it's a rather simple file, it wouldn't need the Korg extensions and you can simply rename the file to have a MIDI extension and import it on Logic Pro (or Garageband), and if it didn't have these extensions it should play down properly.

After that, you can save it as a MIDI file and you can use Quicktime Pro to transcode that to any other format you have codecs for.

an ancient mac software for classic called Midigraphy seems to be able to use .sng files

following nicomendoza's advice, you can play your .sng files on your korg, use a midi usb interface to connect to your Mac and record the music as MIDI file using iPiano

    Hi Nico,
The thing is that song was recorded by a friend of mine on his Korg and he's out of town right now. So as it is, i can't access his machine (plus i don't know how to do it! Ha ha ha!) I tried renaming the file but it doesn't work. Quicktime says it cant play it. How do i import it to Garage Band?
Hope you can help. If there are music professionals out there who have the facility to convert these SNG's into MID's i'd really appreciate it. The files are very small. 7K and 20K for each of them. If anyone can help in converting the files I would be super thankful. My e-mail addy is francismir@yahoo.com. That's also my YM.

    Thanks again!

    Francis
