Seamless Integration with Windows... Right...
Just got my brother a 4th Gen iPod which they all say that it's compatible with Windows. Compatible my arse!
I've been a having a really difficult time trying to have it "mounted" in WinXP. It does sync with iTunes but it doesn't function like an external HD. It doesn't get detecdted by winXP when I use the USB cord but it works when I use the firewire one. but using the firewire doesn't charge it. Browsing it has a lot of gibberish folders about and it's so slow to move about from one folder to the next.
anyone experiencing the same problem?

um, nope.
in my case, to be fair, it worked just fine. where did you first use your iPod? did you format it for Mac, before connecting it to your PC?

Just a thought, is it configured for disk mode already? It has to be manually activated (at least that's the case with OS X), you can do that by going to the iPod settings in iTunes. In OS X (don't know if it's also the case with Windows), you can go there by selecting your iPod in iTunes and clicking on a button on the lower right of the Window that is with an iPod icon.

Got it working. I think it's those windows glitches that screwed up the setup.
Thanks for the advice guys.

If you're a windows user, it's really not so bad. But then, if you're already a mac user and you try the iPod with windows, you will be disappointed. Hehe.
