Default Screws at the bottom of iPhone 3G

As i was watching the guided tour, this image caught my eye.

does this mean we can now open the back part of the iPhone 3G?

it has no separate cover at back, these screw should be the holder of the back plate

I also believe this will make battery replacement easier. With 3G and GPS, it might cause more problems with the battery in the future.

It came as a surprise to me to see a "screw" in an apple product. They could have done it better without screw.

And if there will be "battery replacement", a simple snap mechanism will make it more user friendly.

It could be for easier battery replacement.

It could be for easier repair/maintenance.

It could be for easier replacement of the plastic back. Maybe they're anticipating cracks similar to what happened in some MacBooks? (which is one reason why I wish they retained the aluminum backing seen in the 1st gen iPhones)

It could be none of the above.

...or it could be just cosmetic! Haha, remember that the 2 screws on the left side of the MacBook don't really latch into something and were placed there for design. You can read more about that here.

I doubt that's the case here but hey, it's possible.

maybe it's analogous to the fact that people recognize how much more they will be spending on the 3G iphone; thus there is a possibility their pricing scheme will leave them virtually screwed
