    Default Roaming with iPhone

    Used the search forum but couldn't find any topic on this.

    My question is...when you are roaming using your iPhone, is there a way to choose a specific carrier from a list of all available carriers? I couldn't find a way to do this. It always assigns a carrier to my iPhone w/o giving me a choice.

    Thanks.

    I am almost positive that Smart has roaming in Shanghai. I have an condo in Ningbo which is a smaller city south of Shanghai, and they have Smart roaming. So if they have it in Ningbo, i am sure that Shanghai will have it. BTW, no Globe roaming in Ningbo.

    Settings /Carrier: when the choices appear for Roaming partners/providers just pick the ones you prefer. Hope it helps;

    Cool!

    Keep practicing. I'm a horrible shot myself. For some reason, my stationary paper target is adept at dodging my rounds. Kung saan-saan napupunta.

    Under my iPhone's SETTINGS, there is no option for CARRIER. Is this carrier option standard on all iPhones?

    There should be a "Carrier" line under the "Wi-Fi" line (which is under the first line "Airport Mode"). Tap "Carrier" (which shows you what Carrier is currently active) and the phone will search for a couple of seconds and come up with a screen containing an "Automatic" option and under that, will list the available carriers in your area. When I was overseas a couple of weeks ago, I manually chose my roaming carrier this way so that my entire family and I were on the same roaming network for worry-free texting and calling. I think that all iPhones have the same "Settings" screen regardless of firmware. HTH.
