Restoring anysim unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone
Hi,
Would it be safe to restore an iPhone unlocked with anysim using iTunes to default factory settings? Will I lose the unlock and if so, do I simply just follow the same steps to unlock the phone again?
Is it safe to do so without bricking the phone?
Thanks

ok, first thing muna... you have an OTB 1.1.1 iphone, ayt? then you unlock it with anysim 1.1? and now you want to restore it to factory setting using itunes? if you restore your iphone, it will be back to the activate screen again, from there you can just do the jailbreak/activation and unlock...

Yup, I have an OTB 1.1.1 iPhone which was unlocked by anysim 1.1. However, becuase of the numerous hacks that have been installed, it isn't totally stable. I would want to restore the phone and start from scratch. So it's totally safe to restore using iTunes?

yup its safe, its best to restore it to 1.0.2 first then upgrade it to 1.1.1 after. Dont worry you wont unlock it again it'll just need to be reactivated. hth

what if the the instability problem was cause by mis unlock? I think its best to downgrade to 1.0.2 flash it back to 1.0.2 baseband then update to 1.1.1 in this way you are sure that yuor phone is realy back to its original state. Just my 2 centavos

I have an ultimate all-in-one product called iMac, a magical and revolutionary product called an iPad and a phone that is vivid, fast, slim, the Galaxy S2.

To downgrade the baseband, I should just follow the revirginizing instructions? This will also work with an OTB 1.1.1 iPhone?
Thanks

I apologize for digressing from the discussion, sir mikaelrules, but I'm glad to note that, as with myriad other members of PhilMUG, you're now an iPhone user.
Based on your previous observations, particularly on this thread (Anybody disappointed with their iPhone?), you didn't seem to be keen on Time's "Invention Of The Year."
Contratulations on your purchase, and hope you enjoy using it as much as you do your Nokia E90.
