Creative Inspire M2600 2.1 is good. I'm very happy with them.

For that budget you mentioned? nothing beats the Logitech R20! It cheap, yet it beats that sound from all mentioned. IMO.

Since you have a tight budget, you can choose the altec against the other 3. It sounds better. But definitely not the Creative T10. As they always say, better budget, better sound...

I suggest you try positioning your speakers, especially the subwoofers, in your room where it sounds best. A good speaker positioning and room acoustics would definitely enhance the quality of audio in your listening area. Don't position your subs in the middle of the room's length or width. Experiment and you'll get a good sound.

Even if it sounds really great when you listened to it in a store, it might just sound good in your room.

Good speakers, Good Acoustics, Great sound!

    Cheers!

I'd go for the Alter speakers. I've had good experiences with these brand of speakers. Some friends attest to its quality as well.
