queries about ipod+hp

guys, i need your input regarding this;
i received a brandnew, sealed ipod+hp as a gift. it's a white, 40gb click wheel type.
before opening the box, i just want to be sure of the ff:
- is it compatible with my PB?
- how about warranty? will ynzal or apple center accept my unit for repairs if ever?
- if not accepted by authorized apple center for repairs, will hp be capable of repairing/replacing it?
- can i enroll it for the extended warranty for apple ipod?
