planning to buy an iphone, help pls..
I've read in the link below that AT&T would cut the prices of the new iphones down to around 199$ for a two year contract or so.. I am not a techy person and I quite can't predict the implications, here is my question, fellow muggers.
I plan to buy an iPhone as a birthday gift to myself. Should I wait til the new iPhone comes out, to buy the old model, or would its price here in the Philippines not be much affected by the debut of new iPhone?

You, know, if you buy 199$ from AT&T, it means that you have to register to their plans on the spot. If you don't want to, you will have to pay the full price also. SO if you ever wait, you will have the same price of the iPhone or higher...
In the Philippines, no matter how cheap it is in the states, it's still expensive here because of demand and popularity (But it's not always the case)

I don't understand. Why would the price go up when a better version would be offered?

Okay let me put it this way, I'm thinking that you're staying here in pinas right?
It's 199$ when you get a contract with AT&T, why would you want a contract, when you are living in pinas? The only viable choice you can make is buy a 3G iPhone w/o a contract which would make the price higher. let's say 299-399$.
The thing here is that mas bago ang 3G iPhone, madami pang binebenta na old models ng iPhone, so they should make a substantial difference when you buy the newer one. And karamihan, pag maganda ang model, di sila mag bababa ng presyo, kundi mas mataas ang presyo ng bago kesa sa luma kahit parehas lang sila ng presyo. gets?

If it won't make any difference in June, then buy one sa June. If it was offered na mas mahal, then buy the current one if you can't afford to buy a new model.
