I know this is a stupid question, but I am just kinda curious, how many percentage of the people in the world owns an ipod?

like, how many percentage does the people in the philippines owns an ipod?
how many percentage does the people in the states owns an ipod?

i try to research it on the net, but the answers were kinda old, I couldn't find the market survey that was made around 2008.

does anyone know? or can explain it to me?

well so far me and my friends own ipod, maybe out of 10 theres around 9 or 8 of em owns one, and we're ipod users since 2004-2005, how about others?

It's not really a percentage-based survey but Apple did announce April of 2007 that they had already sold 100 Million iPods. Here is a February 2008 article analyzing that announcement. The table shown in the article shows iPod sales by quarter.

Assuming that every single of those 100,000,000 iPods are owned by separate people (highly unlikely), and the world's population is 6.6 billion, then 100,000,000/6,600,000,000 works out to about 1.5%/
