I just recently bought a new iPod over the weekend.
The thing is, there's is this annoying dead pixel at the middle of the screen. It's not so much visible when scrolling through menus or listening to music. But viewing dark photos and watching videos, you can see it clearly.
Anyway, would anyone know if one dead pixel is covered under warranty by Apple?
Have the samde problem with an iMac. One dead pixel stuck in the middle of the screen. There are unproven rumors of these ixels being "massageable" out of the screen. Am testing it now- no luck yet so far. Check out linkie:
“I’ve missed over 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot..and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael Jordan
probably you can try to go back to your dealer and demand a replacement. you have 7 days to test the unit and if it has any defect you can return the item and ask for replacement
the same thing happened to me. i had dead pixels on a newly bought 30gb ipod video... brought it back & had it replaced.

Try to bring it to a service center. They might replace it for a new unit. My sisters iPod Nano (PRODUCT), the LCD inside the nano wasnt straight and you can clearly see everything slanted to the right. They replaced it with a completely new unit.
