This noob guy needs help!
Yeah I'm really stupid for thinking I can do it on my own w/out the proper background or experience. Guys really sorry for this post but I promise if you can help me with this I wont start a thread like this anymore, promise talaga.
My phone was 1.0.2 that i bought here sa Baguio and it was unlock na kasi I can use my Smart sim na(I just dont know kung ano ginamit pang unlock). The other day, Darkcast helped me on the instructions on restoring my iphone 1.0.2, then yesterday for some weird/funny/stupid reason na upgrade yung iphone ko to 1.1.1 , I tried to follow the steps on this link http://www.hacktheiphone.com/111/iph...1_windows.html
it was too late when I realized this is just for virgin 1.1.1(gah! I'm such a dork!)
after following the steps from that link sabi ng anySim unlock na phone ko pero when I looked at my phone, wala talaga signal coming from my provider(at this point 1.1.1 na ang firmware). So I tried naman to restore it to 1.0.2 using itunes(using the shift key). Now my phone is 1.0.2 pero wala nako signal from my provider. What should I do? Should I revirginize my phone then upgrade? Gusto ko lang naman mag work uli iphone ko, I dont care kung 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 basta mag function lang uli phone features. right now my iphone says version 1.0.2(1C28) Modem Firmware 04.01.13_G no signal from my provider

WHAT DOES "Command 'bbupdater-v' with return code 127 and error message zsh: command not found: bbupdater" MEANS?
I was trying to follow the tutorial on the 1st link (http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10863) that clemente gave, and I was on step #6(see below), but I kept getting this error "Command 'bbupdater-v' with return code 127 and error message zsh: command not found: bbupdater" anybody knows whats goin on? help please?
Also, is there a difference between ieraser and ieraser2 files?because I do have the ieraser and I'm having a hard time where to download the ieraser2 file. i guess the number 2 should tell the difference but i'm not so sure.
1. Put ICE03.14.08_G.eep and ICE03.14.08_G.fls into /usr/bin/
2. Download the Secpack of baseband firmware 4.0 (Can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/2dyq25 - you will need to rename this to secpack)
3. Download ieraser2 from http://www.fink.org/ieraser/ or from Geohot's blog.
4. copy over ieraser2 and the renamed secpack into /usr/bin/
5. SSH into the phone (user: root pass: dottie) and stop the CommCenter by typing
launchctl remove com.apple.CommCenter
6. run "bbupdater -v"
7. type "cd /usr/bin/" and then "chmod +x ieraser"
8. run ieraser (just type ieraser) this will WIPE your baseband, given a file "secpack" is in the same directory and this is a version 4 secpack.
9. run " bbupdater -v " again. it will not find any firmware now.
10. run " bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls "
11. run " bbupdater -v " it will tell you you run version 3.14
12. from here use any of your favorite programs like ibrickr to install anySim 1.2 and successfully recover your iphone from a 1.1.1 update.

Re: This noob guy needs help!
hi after number 5
type this cd /usr/bin/
chmod +x bbupdater
then proceed to number 6

Re: This noob guy needs help!
I think it's because of either the following;
- you are in the wrong directory and the file bbupdater isn't there.
or
- you are in the right directory but the file isn't executable.
Unix isn't like dos where one uses extentions to denote whether it is an executable program, a text file or whatnot. You need to tell the system what kind of file it is by assigning it permissions.
that's where you see all these commands like chmod or chown come in.
I think you need to run 'chmod +x bbudater'
What this does is it tells the system that the file bbupdater can be eXecuted.
This goes for all other types of files as well.
Honestly I am wary of non-unix users attempting hacks or mods on their units. I deeply suggest you take up hannibal's offer because the stakes are high if you screw up.
