Need your Insights/Opinions -- Sennheiser CX500
Hey Guys,
Need a little help here. I'm planning to buy the Sennheiser CX500. I have a aunt who has a CX300 and I tested it and got my first experience of a senn. Sadly, I found the highs too powerful that it hurts my ear. As a result, the bass gets compromised. It's nice because you can hear all the instruments, but I just find the highs really too dominant. Is the CX500 similar, or have they improved it and is way better than the CX300? I'm having doubts of buying the CX500 cause I'm scared that it'll sound like the CX300 which I don't like. I really need you insights cause I hate my money to go to waste. So guys, post your insights and opinions on the CX500, especially from those who own one, Do share your experience.
Thanks in advance!

I've got one, but I won't recommend either way. These ear canal phone are like a pair of shoes, you'll get the most from it, if it fits you best. I've gone through different brands and I still haven't found the one. So test it.
But, if you're willing to buy a pair of headsets without testing, I'd recommend that you wait it out a bit and get yourself the new apple set, no shipping date yet...

Why not try other in-ears first? I have a cx300 and it works well for me. As long as there is proper seal you will hear the thump. There are three types of silicon tips that came with it and one may fit you. The vibe moda is also an earphone that is partial to bass as I've heard.
Cheers.

I tried the CX500. Performance-wise, it is at par with any of the quality in-ears in the market. To scale down the "highs", just adjust using the equalizer presets on your unit. If your listening preference is biased towards bass-heavy music, go for a headphone instead or you might want to explore the possibility of pairing an in-ear with a portable amplifier. If sound isolation is not an absolute prerequisite, try earbuds instead.
