it depends on what nano you are getting to take the place of your mini. If your getting a 2gig nano i suggest sticking with the mini. But as far as looks are concerned i'd go with nano anytime of the day...

i'd still get the nano if given the chance too... i own a 15gb 3rd gen iPod, and still planning to keep it so that i have my whole music library w/ me compared to the storage capacity of the nano

hi, i'm a switcher and am waiting for thursday to have my iBook...
in the mean time, i'm looking for other mac stuff to spend on...
the nano catches my attention because of its size and color display. however, a friend told me that for a nano, only a certain amount of its memory capacity is dedicated to music. and when you reach that amount, the rest cannot be filled with because those memory spaces are supposedly reserved for pictures...
is this true? this makes me think of getting an ipod mini instead...

Well no increments when it comes to capacity but the look and colored lcd is really something worth trying. If you have extra cash I would recommend the shift.

nanoing?
A mini-to-nano switcher here, too. Yup, the 2GB nano would be a great upgrade from the shuffle, but not worth it from a mini. Get the 4GB. The incredibly small size, brilliant color display, iPod features, and the overall "ooh" factor definitely make it worth it to get the nano! Downside: no accessories available (yet), the screen is too small for vertical pictures, and it would have been great if Contacts pictures can be viewed...
But here are some little things I miss about my mini: its medium size makes it the most "handy" iPod; the belt clip (without a lanyard, it's hard to find a safe place for the nano in your clothing); the USB port at the top of the device makes it easier to connect it to your computer without the headphones plug getting in the way; and the scratch-proof brush metal finish.
If you're planning to get a nano, do wait awhile until good protectors/cases come out, so you can suit up your nano right away as it is very susceptible to scratching. The scratches are more visible on the black version than the white, by the way.
Happy iPodding!

nano is great because of the colored screen and the size but for me, get a 20gb instead. nothing beats a large capacity ipod. medyo bitin ang 4gb kasi

i used to have a mini 4gb green, no scratches and all but when i saw the nano, i sold my mini with accesories(senn earphone, apple mini dock, apple remote, leather case) in a low price. was it worth OH! YEAH!
i am now using black 4gb nano.
my music library is about 35gb, why i didnt get the 60gb ipod? Size .... i like size of the nano than the bulky 60gb ipod
