MobileSafari suddenly stopped working
Hope you can help me. My safari was doing great with my home wifi. This afternoon it just wont surf. It says cant open page because it cant find the server. But my wireless network is working with my laptop. I have tried resetting the phone by pressing the sleep and home button but nothing happened. What could have caused the sudden crush of my safari. thnx.

Re: Safari suddenly stopped working
check your phone's wifi settings. is it on automatic? static? what's your previous setting? you may have inadvertently tweaked it. it may also help if you can compare your laptop's settings with your iPhone's. hope this helps.

Re: Safari suddenly stopped working
after around 5 hours of trying different things, i had my safari running again. I did not tweak any of my settings before it bugged down. Thanks hannibal for the help, i did tried your suggestions thou. What i did is to change the DNS to 202.67.222.222, which is a public DNS according to one of d iphone forums. After inputting it, it runs smoothly again. Really dont know what could have happened? kasi it was running fine naman with the old inputted DNS.
hmmm...

Hi jojov_08.
Please check your Open DNS entry. As far as I know, it's supposed to be 208.67.222.222.

Re: Safari suddenly stopped working
DNS servers go down from time to time. Even open DNS servers. If that happens, your access would be limited to IP addresses. It's possible that the problem is DHCP-related but specific to the AP and your iPhone.

So how could i possibly cure this kind of problem, just in case it happens again? would manually resetting back to open DNS do d trick? thanks

Re: MobileSafari suddenly stopped working
You cannot cure DNS servers that are offline unless you run them in-house. DHCP problems take some tracing.
Open DNS will work if you are definitely connected to the Internet.
