Re: Make your old iPod's UI look like an iPod Classic
I Tried it... look...

1.)Get The Firmware here > Classic Project click classic project
2a)get Alterpod for Mac Alterpod
Select restore firmware on the 1st screen and select the extracted unix file from the folder you downloaded in the classic project.
just wait for a while and eject your ipod, it will restart and you now have the new UI,
note:
Clock on Title is not working
Transition is not that smooth.
No Coverflow or passing by albums.. but will display the now playing (in the other halve of the screen) after you selected the song anywhere!
No battery meter on videos (FIX it By Resetting the iPod or play a slideshow on your photos)
No Hold Logo, even after you switched on the hold slider, will display outside the now playing screen but not in.
BUGS are common here, like stuck words and etc. it will get unstuck when you select other menus.
Overall, it's the same iPod you came and love, if you hate the UI on Classic but don't want a dull 5G UI get this one, it's somewhere in between.
2b)Try iPod wizard for windows
iPod Wizrad
I Haven't tried iPod wizard, but if there's a firmware restore option there, you can use that. and just do the same as alterpod.
