Hi, I want to mac-reformat my windows-formatted 4th gen ipod. How do I go about it? I heard you need the correct version of os x to be able to reformat your ipod with your mac? I'm using os x 10.4.10 (or .11. Can't recall. Hehe.
) Anyway, Please help me. Thanks in advance guys!

That's it? Nothing happened after connecting it. If it's not too much, can I ask for a step by step guide? Thanks!

Re: mac-reformatting ipod?
if its windows-formatted iPod which it is, it will prompt you if you would want to restore your iPod, if you do it will reformat the iPod, but it will also tell you that the existing songs or files in it will be erased as it will be sync with the Mac.

Re: mac-reformatting ipod?
Connect it to your Mac then open iTunes.
You will see the option to restore your iPod.
If you wish to do so, it will tell you that all your songs and files will be replaced with that of the Mac's iTunes library.
*I did this with my 5.5G iPod as I wanted to upgrade the firmware when necessary and firmware can only be upgraded with a Mac-formatted iPod.

Re: mac-reformatting ipod?
Thank you guys, that was quick and easy.
I have another question, Is it possible to make my iPod icon appear on desktop after syncing it with iTunes? I noticed that the iPod icon appearing on my desktop everytime I connect it to my Mac, dissapeared after syncing my ipod with my iTunes. This did not happen when my iPod was used to be windows-formatted. Sorry for the noob questions and thanks again.

Re: mac-reformatting ipod?
Yes it will.
You can do it (format in FAT32) either via iTunes or My Computer (if your iPod is used as a hard disk).
