    Default iTunes Music Videos

How do you save the music videos in the iTunes Music Store? It's got to be cached as a temp file somewhere. But where and what file? I'm thinking of saving these videos just in case the rumored "video iPod" might be able to play music videos as well!

Forgot exactly where I got this tip but: load the video (using iTunes, make sure the video's completely loaded), open up Terminal, then enter the following command:

    cp -v `lsof |grep -i QTP| grep iTunes|awk '{ print $9 }'` ~/Desktop/currentmusicvideo.mov

Hit enter and the movie will appear on your desktop as "currentmusicvideo.mov". ;-)

Another way is to search for a file named "QTPluginTemp" on your hard drive. Actual filename will be QTPluginTempxxxxxxxx (x = number). Drag the file to a folder of your choice, rename it (don't forget to add the .mov suffix), and you just saved the video. ;-)

All credit goes to whoever discovered the hack. I'm just the messenger. :-)
