Default Istore Cebu: can they really unlock otb 1.1.2 with new bootloader?

    ei guys.

Not really sure if this is true, but someone told me that the istore in cebu unlocks otb 1.1.2. They say that they don't use turbosim. They really unlock the unit. The price of unlocking is P6,500. I'm a little skeptic about this. Can they really unlock an otb 1.1.2?

Well unless they are able to unlock the 1.1.2 OTB iPhone the legal way - thru iTunes by submitting the IMEI number to Apple and this service is only available in any of the countries the iPhone is legally sold by Apple stores - then I seriously totally doubt it.

Unless of course they do it via the hardware unlock method (which I dont to ever attempt on any iPhone!) or they are smarter than the iPhone Dev Team, iPhone Elite Dev Team or George Hotz! Again I seriously totally doubt it!

yeah, i know. a client of mine kept on telling that it is true since they are an authorized apple store. But I doubt it. What's really funny is that he told me that istore is also selling iphones under the table costing P38,000.

That's bawal ha.. If it's true, then they are taking a really big risk since they are an authorized reseller and they can lose their license or whatever when Apple gets wind of this.

I've already been kind of amused that Power Mac stores are selling iPhone accessories to a country (ours) that's supposedly still out of the iPhone loop.
