is it (ipod) worth it?

someone is selling his ipod to me 4th gen 40 gig for only 20K walang reciept pero 1 month used lang. do you guys think i should go get it?

My initial concern would be warranty but that has already been cleared by Elbert in this post. Scroll down to his post where he explains that even without proof of purchase an iPod is covered by International warranty.

I think the deal is pretty good as long as you can take a look at the unit and check if everything is in working order. Savings will be a couple of thousand.

Do you know the previous owner personally?

nop i dont pero when he offered it to me i think cheap talga siya e. hmm if 4th gen siya most probably wala pa 1 year so covered siya sa international warranty ng apple right. Hindi ba hanapan ako ng apple center dito sa pinas ng mga reciept o what hehehe sorry pero desperado na ako bumili ng ipod!!!!! usually ba if nag paayos ka ng ipod sa apple center ano ba hinihingi? :blush:

Yeah. If it's a 4th Gen model then it should be less than a year old. I'm not so sure when it first arrived in the Philippines (maybe someone else here can answer that), then again we don't know where the person bought it.

Again make sure you get the chance to play with it first to check for defects.

By the way, just like elbert said in the post I referred you to, you might just want to purchase an APP (extended warranty) for your iPod so you will have that security for another year. Qualified pa ang iPod na bibilhin mo becuase it is less than a year old.

Apple Care for iPod is about P3,500. I'm not sure if it costs the same everywhere. I'm not sure if they will ask for your receipt but they can probably look up the serial number of your iPod anyway.

i think Apple in Megamall sells APP, tho' i think its more viable to get it pag talagang malapit na yung expiration mo. Not that it would be extended more (cos i hear warranty is orig (1st year) plus an additional 1 year) so max 2 years from the time the unit was bought ang warranty.

Im just saying, give it time.. baka mas mura sya in the future (some peeps from the US might buy in bulk and sell it here cheaper, or price slashdown, etc.)

a 40GB (4th gen) iPod is cheap, tho you might want to know the reason he is selling it at that price.
Why not get a Bnew one? a 30GB iPOd Photo cost only 24k. less 10GB pero colored ka naman and may phot viewing. :love:
