Default iPod in Wedding Ceremony / Reception

    Guys,

A good friend of mine from college is getting married (simple ceremony)sometime in December. He requested me to do something I did for another friend a couple of years back - manage the music for the ceremony, and in the reception.

I did that before with Minidiscs. 1 MD for the celebration, and another pair for the reception (1 for dining/reception, 1 for dancing).

I'm sure that iPod will do a better job. Maybe even more if with iTrip/iRack?

Any song you would like to recommend for the playlists?
    1. Wedding Ceremony (and what church doesn't allow recorded music?)
    2. Reception/Dinning
    3. Dancing

I know I'm taking away business from the wedding performers, but these guys are practical.

    Thanks

    Tantin

Don't do it with iTrip. The interference will totally kill the mood. Go for a direct connection. Bring your dock.

shucks, that means I have to stand near the sound system control again. Well, at least that's better than yawning in the pews.

The idea came up because of an article I read in a magazine while my friend and I were having a haircut at Brunos - "iPod Wedding" - For the same price of professional live performer, you can get an iPod, plus some killer speakers. What a nice idea indeed.

Well at least, after the wedding you can bring home the iPod, but you cant with the wedding singer

make nalang playlists for each part, like what you did with the MD's the last time you helped your friend that way you won't always have to stay by your ipod. just make sure your ipod doesn't disappear (coz at my cousin's wedding, his bride's cellphone was stolen would you believe?).

    hmm.. what kind of music?

i think the typical wedding ceremony songs are stuff like "we've only just begun" etc.. "the way you look tonight" and other [remade] standards would be nice for dining i would think coz you don't want loud music blaring while you're eating..

and yeah i agree with freelancer, don't use the itrip

Or you could just use an Airport Express hooked up to the sound system and run the entire bunch of playlists remotely from iTunes. At least that way you can use the Party Mix function to DJ on the fly.

hmmm... can you use the ipod with airport express? wouldn't you have to bring your 'book with you instead of the ipod?

Yup, which is why in my original post I suggested he use the Airport Express with iTunes. I only wish it was possible to use it with just the iPod, that would be so cool!

    *sigh*
Airport express, well I guess it would be cheaper to stand by the audio control panel of the church and the restaurant, and operate my iPod from there. I'd probably need one of those attachable security cables (the one they attach to phones at Globe Hub) just to secure my iPod.
